MSD Legends Series Returns at Icebreaker, Road Race Style Offering Unique Bonuses

Friday, April 21, 2017

(Thompson, CT) – For the second consecutive season, Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park will play host to the INEX-sanctioned Midstate Site Development (MSD) Legends Series, promoted by OTB Promotions. Already a unique series, the MSD Legends have a diverse list of contingency programs to offer their drivers.

New to the contingency program in 2017 is the J&J Racing Hard Luck Award. The parts supplier is offering a $25 product certificate for every race to the driver who had a mechanical failure, was involved in an accident, or just had an overall tough day. The award will be selected following the race by race promoters and officials.

New England Race Fuels is renewing their contingency program. The highest finishing Golden Master/Master, Pro and Semi-Pro/Young Lion will receive a complimentary five gallon container of spec 93 race fuel.

OTB Promotions, as part of their commitment to promoting events “outside the box,” has committed $200 in cash prizes to each race during the 2017 season.  The fun in this deal is that the special awards will be different for each race run. There are four special awards for the Icebreaker Road Race Style, each being a $50 bonus. The Hard Charger Award will reward the driver who gained the most positions throughout the race. The Fastest Rookie in qualifying will also receive the $50 contingency. The leader at the halfway point of the race will be rewarded, too, as will the second-to-last place driver.

“The Legends are a unique class of cars, and we wanted our contingencies to reflect that.  We’re grateful to Jags Palmer, John Holland, and Mike Joy for believing in the program.  They, along with Glenn Korner and Midstate Site Development, make Legends racing possible at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park,” General Manager, Josh Vanada, explained.

The MSD Legends have a five event schedule with seven total races being run. The first event is their National Qualifier event running tomorrow, April 22, at the Icebreaker Road Race Style. May 7th features a stand alone race. The last three events are all held during Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park’s Summer Road Race Series. June 11 and August 27 will feature double races while July 23 is a single race event. For more information on the MSD Legends and the Summer Road Race Series visit
