Final Midweek Show Brings Full Fendered and Open Wheeled Twin 50s to Thompson Speedway

Barre, VT & Naples, ME — With autumn setting in, Thompson Speedway brings the final midweek show of the season this Wednesday, September 17th with the Fall Showdown headlined by Twin 50s for the Outlaw Open Modifieds and the track championship Late Models! The full seven division card is sure to be a whopper in the final test and tune prior to the 63rd Sunoco World Series on October 10th, 11th and 12th!

The Outlaw Open Modified Dash for Cash will once again pit a roster of New England traveling teams to vie for the $5,000 prize with just fifty laps on the board! Jon McKennedy and Ronnie Williams are both seeking another Dash for Cash win while Chris Pasteryak, Buddy Charette, Jacob Perry, Gary Putnam, Ryan Ducette and Ryan Morgan dot the early entry list as they all prepare for the Sunoco World Series in October!

The Late Models join the Outlaw Open Modifieds in the headlining twin bill on Fall Showdown Wednesday with their own $3,000-to-win, $300-to-start 50 lap main event. Championship leader Jake Johnson in the Hartwell Motorsports #91CT is looking to cement his championship run with the $3,000 win while fellow full-timers Brian Tagg, Zach Robinson, Manny Dias, rookie leader Jared Roy and Jared Materas are among those looking to defend their Wednesday-night home. Meanwhile, a growing roster of invaders from nearby Waterford Speedbowl and Seekonk Speedway and perhaps a Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour driver or two are also set to join the field Wednesday night.

Todd Owen looks to grow his lead in the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds Wednesday in their 30 lap main event while Nick Hovey tries to do the same in the SK Light Modifieds with their 20 lap dash. ‘Leadfoot’ Larry Barnett has been undeterred by the invading Open Street Stocks in the last several events and maintains a strong bid for yet another Thompson Speedway track championship. The Mini Stocks also return with all chasing Dave Trudeau during the final Wednesday of the season.

By popular demand the Thunderstock Crown Vic division will kick off Wednesday’s feature racing action with Officials expecting several more entries as the start-up division continues to grow in 2025.

Thompson Speedway returns for the final mid-week show of the 2025 season on Wednesday, September 17 with the Twin 50 Fall Showdown! The Outlaw Open Modifieds go for the $5,000-to-win Fall Showdown Dash for Cash while the track championship Late Models hunt down a $3,000 grand prize in their own 50 lap sprint. The Thompson Speedway track championship divisions will also be in action for season’s final midweek special on the Thompson highbanks and a 6:00pm Post Time.
