Barre, VT & Naples, ME — Officials from the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) announced today that the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will visit Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park for three events in 2024 during the famed oval’s 85th season of stock car racing. 2024 marks the fifth season that the ACT and PASS organizations have co-promoted the 5/8-mile oval at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and they welcome the nationally renowned NASCAR Touring Series back to the track that started it all once again in the coming season.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to Thompson for the 50th Icebreaker weekend on Sunday, April 7. The Icebreaker 150 brings the NASCAR Modifieds back to where it all started for the modern tour where back in 1985 it got its footing and remains a top draw along the East Coast. The Sunday addition sets up an exciting two-day weekend of open wheeled action that also includes the debut of the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series on Saturday, April 6.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will also return for their annual midweek special on Wednesday, August 14 and will return as part of the 62nd Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing on Sunday, October 13th.

“We’re excited to be able to host the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for three dates in 2024,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “Having the Tour bookend the season at Thompson and make for epic Modified showdowns at both the Icebreaker and World Series is pretty special and certainly gives everyone something to look forward to this off-season.”

While the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park oval settles in for the New England winter ahead, the Thompson Speedway schedule begins to take shape. The American-Canadian Tour and Pro All Stars Series are once again operating Thompson Speedway oval for the fifth consecutive season in 2024, the full schedule and division rules for the upcoming season will be released by Thanksgiving.
